【4・6年生】続・夏季ゼミナール🚁 Exploring Drones: A 4-Day Learning Adventure
Over four exciting days, students of Year 4 and Year 6 joined a special class to learn about drones. Each 40-minute session was designed to be fun, educational, and hands-on.
On Day 1, we introduced drones and showed students three different types. We explained what drones are and gave them homework: prepare a short English speech about their favorite place at school.
Day 2 focused on learning drone parts and how the system works. Students matched words like “propeller” and “camera” to pictures, then worked in teams to complete drone-related puzzles. They also practiced their speeches.
On Day 3, students finished their scripts and began filming short videos using iPads. Some students even experienced the drone’s follow mode, where the drone tracked their movement.
Day 4 was the big day! Students were grouped by their favorite school locations and recorded drone videos in English. The drone followed them to their spots, and they proudly introduced their chosen places. Afterward, they enjoyed free flying time with the drones.
Through this experience, students didn’t just have fun – they learned important lessons. They discovered how drones work as systems, with each part playing a role, just like in teamwork. They also learned how drones are used in real life for delivery, photography, and even emergencies.
The project helped students improve their English and think creatively. Teachers Antony and Martin were impressed with the students’ teamwork and performance.
Next time, we hope to offer Advanced Drone Skills, including more flying challenges and outdoor practice!
This program proved that learning can be fun, high-tech, and creative – just like a drone soaring through the sky! 🌤️📸In closing, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Kawagoe Sankyo Drone School for their kind cooperation in this seminar. (Written by Antony & Martin)
